A burst flavor and tons of nutrition!
Are you familiar with Microgreens? They are highly nutritious and flavorful raw superfoods that can be added to most any meal such as soups, salads, stir-fry, sandwiches, or just about anything. According to a 2012 study by the University of Maryland, they are 4-40 times more nutritious than mature vegetables. This is a great way to help your family’s health, boost your immune systems and remove toxins from your bodies.

Culinary uses are endless
Microgreens can be a tasty addition to sweet and savory dishes and have more nutrients than their conventional counterparts. The flavor of some microgreens can be quite intense and concentrated, so a little can go a long way to enhance a meal. Many chefs use them as flavor accents and garnishes for soups, salads and sandwiches. We enjoy them in more abundant ways at home. I usually prefer my plate "smothered" with a lovely variety of greens at most every meal. They are fabulous on salads, soups, as a substitute for lettuce on sandwiches, on stir-fry, and great in smoothies too! Cooking microgreens is not recommended due to their delicate nature. Best if added at the end of your preparation to preserve the most nutritional benefits and flavor.
A Variety of Options
There are a lot of different varieties of microgreens that can be grown. They are all very healthy and nutritious, but some are even more so than others. For example: Radish and Broccoli are especially known for their anti-cancer, cardiovascular health, skin and weight loss benefits. Some other the other more commonly grown varieties of microgreens include: Arugula, Cabbage, Kale, Kohlrabi, Peas, and Sunflower along with various salad and smoothie blends and mixes.

Grow to order farming
Microgreen crops can take from 1-3 weeks from planting until ready for harvest and eat. When crops are grown to order, they are specifically grown for each individual client to ensure your family’s needs are met on a regular basis. Having a personal, local farmer that's willing to grow for you is a blessing to most health conscious families. New varieties may be offered intermittently so that you have an opportunity to try out new flavors.
“Because microgreens are harvested right after germination, all the nutrients they need to grow are there.”
Qin Wang, PhD, assistant professor at the University of Maryland in College Park
Helping to feed thy neighbor
As we have gotten older and had to deal with the changes in our bodies, we have noticed that making some changes in our diets has been making a BIG difference. Not only do we feel a lot better, we've been able to avoid dependence on regular use of prescription drugs. We've definitely added a lot more vegetables to our diet and wanted to find a way to grow our own, but living in the mountains of Colorado can make that a bit challenging. We've always enjoyed farming and were researching ways to grow food indoors when we discovered the world of microgreens and decided to try it out. We were hooked right away They are just SOOOOO GOOD!!! Too good to not share with the world, or at least with your neighbors :)

John, the main farmer, has always had a bit of a "green thumb". He just absolutely loves the process of growing all kinds of plants. Julie is a holistic nurse focusing on healing the body with nutritional foods and supplements. Together, we infuse lots of good, positive, love energy into everything we grow, using only the best quality ingredients and practices. This way we know we're not only getting the highest quality for ourselves, but providing the best products for our clients (friends and neighbors) too.
